TRACKREC:

COME HOME, RUBBER is a triptych musically and a diptych lyrics-wise.
Joop on COME HOME: “Wherever you are, stop being there and start being here, instantly.” is a sentence taken from The Mystery of The Sardine, a novel by the inimitable Polish-British writer, surrealist and jack-of-all-trades Stephen Themerson (1910-1988).
The rest of the text is a substantiation of the request/command with a list of recurring phrases, stripped of their reciprocity. In the hope that Themerson would have given his blessing to them. The underlying motive of the enumeration is, I think, laziness. I would rather you do my best, watch my step, raise my voice, etc.

As to RUBBER: speaks for itself, either you are a rubber or you know at least one.

TRACKLINES:

wherever you are
stop being there
and start being here
instantly

wherever you are
(he’s da)
stop being there
(rubber)
and start being here
instantly

(he’s da, he’s da)

i need you here
to blow my wig
to get my nuts
to bust my caps

i need you here
(rubber)
to do my best
to change my mind
to mind my steps

i need you here
(rubber)
to raise my voice
(he’s da)
blow my own horn
to guzzle my gas

i need you here
(rubber)
to take my chance
(he’s da)
to flip my lid
to be flat on my ass

wherever you are
stop being there
and start being here
instantly
(rubber)
wherever you are
stop being there
and start being here
instantly
(he’s da)
wherever you are
(rubber)
stop being there
(he’s da)
and start being here
instantly
wherever you are
(he’s da)
stop being there
and start being here
instantly

i call him the rubber
Chief Itch & Rub
(he’s da)
he rubs like no other
and never gives up
(he’s da)
i call him the rubber
and boy does he rub
non stop unabated
(he’s da)
straight to the top

he’ll use them on you
elbow and thumb
he’ll rub and he’ll rub
until it gets numb
(he’s da)
he’ll rub it some more
(he’s da)
rub till it hurts
(he’s da)
he’ll rub it again
(rubber he’s da)
till it gets sore
(rubber rubber)

he’ll rub and he’ll rub
rub till you bleed
rub to the bone
(rubber)
rub to the beat
(he’s da)
rub rub rub rub
he’s da rubber
(he’s da)
rub rub rub rub
he’s da rubber

he’s da rubba rubba
he’s da rubba rubba
he’s da rubba rubba

wherever you are
(he’s da)
stop being there
(rubber)
and start being here
(he’s da)
instantly

i need you here
to blow my wig
to get my nuts
to bust my caps

i need you here
to do my best
to change my mind
to mind my steps

i need you here
to raise my voice
blow my own horn
(rubber)
to guzzle my gas

i need you here
to take my chance
to flip my lid
to be flat on my ass
(rubber)

he’s da rubber
